Hopie's story was brought to our attention on May 28, 2020. After seeing the condition in which she was living we immediately started the process of assisting her.
In 2 weeks, from the collaborative efforts of the Mayor of Portmore Mayorleonthomas_teamportmore, the CEO of the Portmore City Municipality Miss Naudia Crosskill, MP Fitz Jackson, Councillor Anthony Wint, and the team, we were happy to move her into her new home on June 15.
We also want to give special thanks to the Kiwanis Greater Portmore, Food For The Poor Jamaica, Councillor Vanrick Preddie, Portmore Clifton Quarry Promoters, Pauline Brown from ODPEM, ADA Manufacturing Jamaica Limited, Sherwin-Williams, Cess Hardware, Magnum, Cookies, Torpedo Loan and the Braeton Community who also came onboard to help make this happen.
