The Commercial Services Department is responsible for ensuring that the revenues within the Municipality is collected and individuals are aware of their obligations.
Mission Statement
To collect the applicable revenue for the Portmore Municipality while providing world-class customer service, building a harmonious relationships with stakeholders and providing the requisite education.
Functions
- Monitor the revenue sectors within the Municipality
- Collection of property tax and trade license fees
- Licensing of Barbers, Hairdressers, Beauty Therapist, Barber Shops, Beauty Salon and Vendors
- Issuing of Permits for amusement activities within the Municipality
- Payments for Billboards and signs Permits
- Monitor and leasing of stalls in the Transportation Centre
- Collection of Revenue from Taxi and Bus operators that use the transportation Centre

- Sales of Goods in Public Places Regulation
