Portmore Municipal Council Enforcement Team Remove illegal Cell tower from residential property within the Municipality

On Tuesday September 9, 2014 the Compliance and enforcement team of the Portmore Municipal Council, accompanied by the St. Catherine South police and Jamaica Public Service Company personnel, removed a cell tower from 96 New way Cumberland Meadows in Portmore St. Catherine.

The tower, owned by Digicel, was located on the top of a one-storey house. The equipment was confiscated from the property and taken into safe keeping.

Residents from the area and its environs were very vocal as they’ve made numerous telephone calls to the council requesting that the tower be removed.

The Compliance and Enforcement Manager of the Portmore Municipal Council is reminding entities who are not compliant that they you may visit the council and speak with someone who will assist you on 1these matters or the compliance and enforcement team will be knocking at their door the next time.
