RE: BUILDING APPROVAL AMNESTY
Please be advised that the Portmore Municipal Council (PMC) will be embarking on a Building Approval Amnesty for the Municipality of Portmore.
Effective JULY 19, 2016, persons who are in contravention of the Parish Council Building Act and the Town and Country Planning Act (TCPA) by doing construction without an approved building plan will have an opportunity to remedy this problem through the Building Approval Amnesty.
In order to apply for this amnesty, applicants must fulfill the following criteria:
A Building Application must be made to the PMC within the Amnesty period of July 19, 2016 – October 19, 2016.
The Building Application must be for RESIDENTIAL PURPOSES ONLY.
Benefits
- Hoarding and Penalty fees will be waived
- Senior Citizens age sixty (60) and over will be required to pay 50% of building fee.
- All other persons will only pay 80% of the building fees, inclusive of those who would have built ten (10) years and over.
Submission Documents
- Proof of ownership
- Four (4) copies/sets of Building Plans
- Up-to date Property Tax Receipts
- Up-to-date Surveyor’s Report
