I am not sure how many of you have seen that the police seems poised to achieve their target of less than 1000 murders for the year and if things continue as they are trending, 2014 will record the lowest number of murders in 11 years.
I want to commend the Minister of National Security, the members of the Jamaica Constabulary Force and the Jamaica Defence Force for their continued efforts to rid the country of crime and criminal activities. I want also to encourage them to continue serving and protecting our citizens and to carry out their duties within the confines of the law.
I am pleased but do not want to speak too much about this because you already know that whenever we record this kind of success, there are those bent on reversing the trend.
