The month of November each year is recognized as Local Government & Community Month during which, a series of activities are planned to increase awareness and highlight the work of the Ministry and its agencies.
The Kingston and St. Andrew Municipal Corporation (KSAMC) recently coordinated with the Ministry of Local Government and Community Development to stage an inaugural Cross Island Run which commenced in Kingston.
The run served as a symbolic gesture which took the form of a run and drive, where the Local Government & Community Month messages of both the Prime Minister and the Minister of Local Government, were taken across the island to all the Mayors. Its final stop will be at the National Church Service in Morant Bay, St. Thomas.
