Youth Summer Employment Programme 2017

The KSAMC recently held an Orientation Session for the 2017 Youth Summer Employment Programme.

The primary target group for this programme are youth between the ages of 15 and 29 whose goal is to collect data on street lights within all 40 divisions across the municipality, identify streets with missing name signs and record the information.

Additionally, they are tasked with identifying vulnerable persons within communities that are in need of emergency assistance and general social assistance using relevant forms provided.

The mayor of Kingston has lauded this initiative which is being spear-headed by the Ministry of Local Government and advised youth participants that their involvement in the programme is far beyond mere employment.

Mayor Williams says it is an opportunity to contribute meaningfully toward the improvement of life within their communities.

He charged them to represent themselves, their families, Councillors, and the municipality to the best of their abilities.
