KSAC TO ROLL OUT 2015 VENDOR REGISTRATION PROGRAMME TO PROVIDE EFFICIENT AND TIMELY REGISTRATION OF VENDORS

The Kingston and St Andrew Corporation (KSAC) will be undertaking registration of vendors between July 21 and August 31, 2015, as part of its Vendor Registration Programme.

The programme will target vendors operating within the market districts of Kingston and St. Andrew as provided for under the Markets and Sale of Goods Acts.

This initiative aims to provide and maintain order in the market district through the effective registration of vendors and targets groups which include all occupational and seasonal vendors engaged in vending activities within the formal markets and designated vending areas in Kingston and St. Andrew.

At last Tuesday’s monthly sitting of Council, Her Worship the Mayor of Kingston, Senator Councillor Dr. Angela Brown Burke J.P., urged vendors to follow the rules as the data from the registration would be used to plan for their needs.

Mayor Brown Burke also affirmed that the vending fees would not be increased as fees for stalls in the markets and arcades would remain at $3,000 annually, off-street annex $5,000 annually and on-street $6,000.
