The Kingston and St. Andrew Corporation (KSAC) is deeply saddened by the tragic and untimely death of 47 year old Ann- Marie Green, her 9 year old son Jordan Marsh and 54 year old ex- soldier Howard Thomas who, in his valiant and selfless attempt to save the victims from a fire that engulfed their home on April 19.
The KSAC shares the grief with the loved ones of the victims of the fire at 80 Church Street and will The KSAC will extend its usual support to the relatives of the fire victims to enable them to recover from this crisis.
Kingston’s Mayor Dr. Angela Brown Burke has expressed regret at the death of the residents and is ensuring that the KSAC extends support to the remaining family members.
The public is being advised that the structure as it stands, is considered dangerous and unsafe and will be demolished. We are therefore appealing to residents to stay clear of the building.
We also urge residents to maintain utmost safety awareness in order to prevent the recurrence of these kinds of incidents.
