​Applications are invited from suitably qualified persons to fill the position of Property/Asset Manager in the St. James Municipal Corporation.
 
Purpose: To effectively secure, manages and maintain all the St. James Municipal Corporation’s buildings, properties and other assets in an effort to create a safe and comfortable environment for employees and customers of the Corporation.

Qualifications: 

Skills

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Good management and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in the use of computer and relevant computer applications
  • Knowledge of corporate security
  • Sound technical knowledge
  • Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written formats at all levels
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize among conflicting demands
  • Knowledge of property regulations
  • Negotiation and conflict-management skills
  • Ability to travel (Must own a reliable motor vehicle and current driver’s license)

Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture/ Construction Management/ Civil Engineering, or Postgraduate Diploma in Management or related field
  • Certificate or higher in Project Management
  • At least five (5) years’ experience in a Property Management
Responsibilities: 

List of Duties include but not limited to:

  1. Perform regular site visits, monitoring all on-going maintenance/construction projects performed by external contractors, including current required insurance certificates;
  2. Manage daily property requirements and maintain long-range capital improvements planning through regular inspections of property for damage, contractor effectiveness and areas of improvement;
  3. Attend board meetings and present routine reports, including activity reports, variance reports and property inspections;
  4. A working knowledge of contracts and agreements, building and grounds maintenance, as well as project management experience;
  5. Develop and maintain an Asset Register/Log.
