INSPECTORS OF POOR IN TRAINING
The Board of Supervision, in the Ministry of Local Government has, since August 2016, released three (3) individuals from the Kingston and St. Andrew Corporation (KSAC) and the Ministry of Local Government, for training in the area of Inspectors of Poor in the St. Catherine Parish Council’s Poor Relief Department and Infirmary, respectively.
The eight weeks training which commenced on August 08 concludes on September 28.
The three persons attended September’s sitting of Monthly General Meeting of Council where they were acknowledged. Namely: Angella Hinds Martin KSAC, Craig Henry KSAC and Trudy Ann Graham – MLG
ALGA-J ACKNOWLEDGED COUNCILLORS WHO SERVED OVER FIFTEEN (15) YEARS
At the ALGA-J Annual General Meeting held at Hotel Versales in Clarendon, Wednesday, September 07, 2016, Councillor's who served over 15 years were honored.
Four Councillors from St. Catherine were among the awardees. Namely: Councillor Norman Scott, Mayor of Spanish Town - Greendale Division (18) years.
Councillor Ralston Wilson, Deputy Mayor and Councillor for the Ginger Ridge Division. Councillor Wilson was honored as the longest serving Councillor in the island of Jamaica, serving for 37 years.
Councillor Donovan Guy, Twickenham Division, (18) years and Councillor Enos Lawrence, Dela Vega Division, (26) years.
The Councillors were acknowledged at September's Monthly General Meeting of Council, where they were enthusiastically congratulated by colleague Councillors.

ST. JAGO HIGH SCHOOL AWARDS ST. CATHERINE PARISH COUNCIL
Mrs. Collette Pryce, Principal of the St. Jago High School and Head boy Jevaughn Keyes, presented a plaque to the St Catherine Parish Council at its Monthly General Meeting of Council this morning.
Over the years the St. Catherine Parish Council has been offering support to the St. Jago High School in a number of ways and it is much appreciated. We at the school are very thankful, and use this medium to say thanks for the continued support, said Mrs. Pryce.
The presentation was made to the Chairman of the St. Catherine Parish Council and Mayor of Spanish Town, Councillor Norman Scott.
